How to figure out what you need to make on the final exam in order to make a certain grade you must:
1. Multiply your 3rd nine weeks grade by 2.
2. Multiply your 4th nine weeks grade by 2
3. Add those two number together (steps one and two).
4. Subtract that answer from the following numbers:
A = 448
B = 398
C = 373
D = 348
5. The number that you come up with by subtracting # 3 from # 4 is the grade you need to make on the final exam to maintain whatever grade you want.
Example:
3rd nine weeks grade = 90
4th nine weeks grade = 63
90 x 2 = 180
63 x 2 = 126
126 + 180 = 306.
In order to make an A in class:
448 - 306 = 142. It is not possible to make a 142 on the final so you can not make an A in this class for the semester.
In order to make a B in class:
398 - 306 = 92. You must make a 92 on the final exam to make a B in this class for the semester.
In order to make a C in class:
373 - 306 = 67. You must make a 67 on the final exam to make a C in this class for the semester.
In order to make a D in class:
348 - 306 = 42. You must make a 42 on the final exam to make a D in this class for the semester.
