Daily Routines

Students have a daily routine when they enter my classroom. This allows the students to become focus on the concepts and information that is being presented for the day.

Students are expected to be seated in their assigned desk by the tardy bell. Students must have supplies ready which may include having their pencils sharpen, having a pen, having any assignments or notes out on their desk and their warm ups. When the bell rings, students will have 5 minutes to open their binders, write their daily objective (located on the chalkboard) and begin answering the 2 warm up questions which are directly under the daily objective. Warm up questions always reflect prior knowledge which has been discussed in my classroom. If a student is absent or unable to write the objective or warm up for the day, they are able to look at the assignment-daily warm up section on the web site or receive the information from a classmate at an appropriate time.

Students are not allowed to talk or roam during this time. While students are completing this task, I take roll and provide any announcements to the class. Once discussing the warm up questions, the class will begin the lesson for the day. I arrange a variety of activities for students including class discussion, group projects, labs, class activities, independent study and technology interaction. Prior to the bell for dismissal, students are required to clean up any trash that may have been accumulated during the period, all classroom textbooks must be placed in the designated area and students must be seated in their seats. Once the last task is complete and the bell has rung, students are dismissed to go to the next period.
