From 2006-2011, I served as a biology teacher at Clear Creek High School and Clear Lake High School in Clear Creek ISD. In 2011-2012, I also taught food science in Clear Creek ISD at Clear Lake High School. I taught at Channelview High School as my first full time teaching position in 2005-2006. At Channelview High School, I taught biology and IPC (integrated physics and chemistry).

I am very excited about the opportunity Pasadena ISD students have in the community and throughout the area. I am very excited to be apart of the Pasadena I.S.D. and look forward to being part of the educational process in an area that has a high reputation. In addition to my professional responsibilities to Pasadena ISD, I am also an adjunct history professor for San Jacinto College South Campus. In my professional career, I have supported students in their academics, extra-curriculum events and their personal success. I have helped in varies clubs and organizations and supported students by attending numerous functions such as UIL contest, plays, concerts, games, ceremonies, community events, fund raisers, pep rallies, graduation events and project graduation activities. I strive to give students an opportunity to become successful in anything they try. I have offer positive feedback and support to students who reach for the stars. I believe students can and will make a difference in our future society and I believe that it is my role and my privilege to not only support but to open the doors for opportunities for students. Over the last few years, I have taken a stand and encourage students of today to be leaders of tomorrow.

In my personal life, I take pride that I am close to my family and family values have enabled me to be a success in society. My parents enabled my brother and myself to have positive role models and always taught that education was the key to a positive and productive life. My mom and dad have been married for over 30 years and are two people who I admire and feel bless for having in my life. Though my brother is 6 ½ years younger than me, we are very close and I feel bless to have a great sibling to hang out with. My family has always supported me by being a part of my life and becoming involved with activities that are important to me.

In addition, I enjoy spending time with my best friends. Their friendship gives me lots of laughter and fun as I have known my best friends for over 10 years. Besides my family and friends, I love animals especially my pets. I am currently a proud mama of 5 dogs (Lucy, AC, Annie, BB, and Duke), 1 red-eared slider water turtle (Crackle), a tank of fish and a betta fish (Bubble). I also fostered a cat for over a year name Gloria until finding her a permanent home. Growing up, I also had a horse named Misty and dogs named Ginger, Brownie and Lady. I have also had over 20 gerbils throughout my life. My pets are very special to me.

Living in the Houston area all my life, I have been exposed to many positive aspects of life. I enjoy writing and reading and have written poems and short stories throughout my life. Other hobbies include collecting angels, smile faces, unicorns, sea shells, crosses, coins and dainty figurines.

My favorite singer is Elvis Presley and I am a devout fan of his. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends and I love to get to know new people so I am always talking and learning about different people. I also enjoy taking pictures and have photos throughout my room and classroom. I enjoy the outdoors and staying in for a movie. I love to learn new things and enjoy topics related to many aspects of life. I take pride that I have achieved success through education and provide an example to my students that success is obtainable if determination, priorities, goals, dreams and support from family are the center of personal success.
